Everything and Nothing

Everything and Nothing

Here is a statement: Everything contains nothing and nothing also contains everything.

Now reflect…

What is nothing?

A space with no things in it.

But to have a space with no things you must also have a space with things.

The things define the space with no things, otherwise “no thing” would just be no.

Imagined

If nothing is in fact part of everything then the perceived dualism of these two phenomena is pure a conception of the human mind.

If you zoom our enough you realise that there is just everything – the Tao.

The tension born from this dualism in tantamount to the incompatibility of the human mind to fully comprehend the universe.

We need to simplify and categorise, to break things down in to bites and bits of data so that we can process then comprehend what is happening.

This disaggregation of reality leads to an understanding that is lesser than the sum of its parts.

You could perhaps say the sensation created by this dualism is energetically equal to that which we have lost from our comprehension.

We miss the emergent beauty of reality as we can only experience it fully in the present moment but we are too busy breaking down, simplifying, judging and categorising in a bid to understand.

Here is the contradiction of accepting the limitation of our biological capabilities while knowing that we have limitless untapped possibilities.

Expanded

How do we shift our perception.

Start with considering:

An acorn contains a whole forest.

Practice attentive listening without forcing, letting go to flow outwards. Being connected because it is in fact impossible not to be.

Understanding the Ego for the implement that it is. Telling the difference between the bee and the hoverfly. Not letting the hoverfly become a wasp.

But letting it be all of these and none of at the same time…

The paint on the walls is part of the house, but if you want to understand the structure of the house, you must look past the surface of he walls and deep in to the structure.

Inside to return outside and observe the beautiful interconnectedness of all things.

Enjoy, for now.
