Living Beyond Ourselves
This post is a musing reflection pondering the following two questions:
Do we choose to align ourselves with what we think other people think, or simply what we think?
What is the difference anyway?
Here goes…
To act according to what other people think takes us down a path of the ego. This is a fragile and hollow pursuit as it is based around our ever-changing perception of the rest of the world.
We will never know exactly what other people think as we are not them, we will always fill in the blanks to create a narrative which is actually just a projected version of our own definition of the perfect human.
What is the problem then if it is our own definition?
It is the definition we own, but not the one we created. Unconsciously programmed in to us as children our definition of the perfect human is second hand knowledge, just like listening to what other people think or behave.
Reject it all, Equally
If we have self-worth and the skills to match, we can reject equally the projections of other humans and our own internal projections or you could say judgements about what we should and should not do. They are both the same. Derived from outside the present moment we occupy.
The moment you psychologically hit pause to check the rule book, you are disengaged and so no longer act authentically. With this in mind, the aim of the game is to stay in the present moment…
Everything you need, you have access to right now in this moment.
You just need to trust yourself and allow authentic action to flow.

Enjoy, for now.
