A Note from Ibiza

A Note from Ibiza

In this post I will share a short personal journal entry from time I spent reflecting while away on a lad’s holiday in Ibiza. The interesting thing here is that around three months before the trip I decided to choose to no longer consume alcohol (this was after the trip was already booked).

Enjoy…

Authenticity, engagement, flow… they all concern the present moment.

Being present in the present is giving yourself a present…

The present of life.

Inhibitions are imagined constructs of the human mind which we reference to control and direct our behaviour.

You could say they represent the boundary of your perception; for if they inhibit you from experience, you will never know a perceived reality which encompasses the lessons from that experience.

Having a pliable perception is a skill which can be developed through practice, and the same skill can be applied when learning to transcend your inhibitions.

Inhibitions being constructs of the mind, are stored in the same centre which houses ethics, morals, and values. It is this same part of the brain that we attune through mindful practice to cultivate a deep sense of intuition with the natural flow life.

Alcohol makes us lose our inhibitions but in doing so actually suppresses the performance of the whole centre. When this happens, our actions are no longer born from our authentic self.

Learning to become non-attached to our inhibitions without the use of alcohol sets us truly free from its shackles.

New challenges.

A new you.

P.S. This was from 2023. We enjoyed the trip so much, we are going again this year!

And I am still choosing not to drink alcohol. 😊

Enjoy, for now.
